Gospel Letter for April 2005

"Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope" (Psalm 119:49)

Whatever your need may be, you may readily find a promise in the Bible regarding it. Are you weary? Here is the promise- "He giveth power to the faint" (Isaiah 40:29). When you read such a promise, take it back to the great Promiser, and ask Him to fulfill His own Word. Are you seeking Christ, and thirsting for closer communion with Him? This promise shines like a star on you- "Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6) Take that promise to the throne continually. Go to God over and over again with this- "Lord, You said it; do as You said."

Are you distressed because of sin and burdened with the heavy load of your iniquities? Listen to these words- "I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions, and will no more remember thy sins" (Isaiah 43:25). Are you afraid you may not be able to hold on until the end? If that is your state, take this word of grace to the throne and plead it: " The mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; by my kindness shall not depart from thee" (Isaiah 54:10).

If you have lost the sweet sense of the Savior's presence and are seeking Him with a sorrowful heart, remember the promise: "Return unto me, and I will return unto you" (Malachi 3:7). Base your faith on God's own Word. Whatever your fears or wants, go to your heavenly Father saying : "Remember the word unto thy servant upon which thou hast caused me to hope."
